'In the dark times
Will there also be singing?
Yes, there will also be singing.
About the dark times.'
Mean Time is a musical and textual speech performance struggling for the survival of the word against its deadly abuse of power. Through the ambiguous figure of a female oracle comes the attempt to interpret her own zeitgeist as read of a future. The oracle, whose language is one the one hand providing wise and prophetic predictions is on the other; a frenzied and possessed, talking in riddles. The title of the performance is explored in its double meaning: a time simultaneous with the present and a time that separates us from the future. A kind of in-between time, or nasty time.
